Tools I Work With
My Design Collections
Music Posters
These music posters are one of my favorite projects. I wanted to create a completely different atmosphere for each poster, as you can see from the chaos of the Ken Carson poster to a more colorful Golden Age festival poster to the calm tour poster of Nas and DJ Premier. I really enjoyed making these posters because I could have a lot of my own input, especially through the music I listen to myself, as seen in the Golden Age poster where my different genres are visible in my music taste. I am also very proud of my tour poster of Nas because when I showed it to a friend, he was already really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the outing did not happen.
Animated Ter Borch Painting
For a school project about Ter Borch, I brought one of his iconic paintings to life in After Effects. This was a challenging but incredibly fun assignment because in this project I started learning After Effects, which I had wanted to do for a very long time because I find it really cool to do more 3D editing and create beautiful things with After Effects. I had to animate different layers of the painting to create movement and depth. The final result is a playful and beautiful animation that gives the classical artwork a fun modern twist. I also added sound to the painting by using fun sound effects underneath it. My work was also shown at the Ter Borch exhibition in the Stadskamer of Zwolle.
Video Thumbnails
Before I made these thumbnails for my concert videos, I simply used screenshots from a good moment in the video. Later I noticed that this didn't grab attention well and definitely didn't look professional. Then I decided to make covers for the concert videos in Photoshop. After making the first one of Jev., I immediately saw that this worked a lot better, and I kept the same style for the ones of Destroy Lonely and Lil Tecca.
Sicila Vacations Posters
During my vacation in Sicily, I took beautiful photos of the stunning landscapes and culture. In the photos you can see the impressive Mount Etna, which had its largest eruption since 1997 at the time we were on the island, and I quickly managed to take a beautiful photo of the ash cloud. The other photos show the rich culture of the island, such as the beautifully lit streets of Syracuse and the stunning old Christian statues in Catania. I then turned these photos into stylish vacation posters that capture the culture of the island. From the super clear sea to the historical architecture, each poster tells a story of my journey.
Business Card
This is my own designed and made business card. This was one of the first designs I made during my education. I kept a very minimalistic design. I chose this design because I wanted a card that clearly shows what I do, but also expresses my style. You can immediately see from the front and the back that it's about a camera lens, and that just happens to be what I do. On the back is my information with a QR code to my Instagram, because at that time I didn't yet have a portfolio website, but even then I was already thinking about how people could see my work. In short, it's a simple but clean design and it shows what I can do and what I stand for.
Street Art Typography
In this project I went out with a few classmates to photograph an entire alphabet and then make posters with it using famous quotes from favorite or well-known artists. This was very challenging because it is quite difficult to find some letters just out on the street. Still, we managed to find the entire alphabet and converted them to black and white, and we made a collection, from which we eventually each made individual posters, and you can see the final result here on the left. The one on the left is a quote from a song by Playboi Carti (Long Time) from the album Die Lit. I find this a very nice and inspiring album and that is why I used his lyrics. The one next to it is from Kanye West, he says here, The truth is crazy in a world full of lies. This quote reminds me that staying true to the truth sometimes means you are seen differently, but that this is not wrong.
